arXiv papers, explained

New papers,
explained from what you know.

Tell EasyXiv what you do and know, and follow the arXiv categories and authors you care about. It picks the day's new papers that matter to you and says why; its assistant reads a paper and writes a reading of it in your terms, with a note for each new idea, linked to every paper that uses it.

FAQ

Before you start

Do I need a research background?

No. Tell it what you do and know — say, backend services in Go — and it explains a paper from there: each new idea gets a short note in your terms, which you can mark as known.

Which papers can it explain?

Any paper on arXiv, by its id or link or found by a search; it reads the paper's HTML version where arXiv has one, and its PDF otherwise.

How does it choose papers for me?

You follow arXiv categories and authors. The feed lists the day's new papers in them, and the assistant picks up to eight that matter to what you do, each with one sentence on why.

Can I trust the explanation?

Check what matters. Every quotation in a reading must be found in the paper, and every number in what the assistant read or what you told it, or the reading is not saved; the explanation in its own words can still be wrong, so the original is always one link away on arXiv.

Can I edit what it writes?

Yes. Every reading, every concept and your background is Markdown you can edit; each change keeps the version before it, so an earlier one can be restored.

What happens when a paper gets a new version?

The paper is marked in your feed and your papers, and one button asks the assistant what changed.

Is EasyXiv part of arXiv?

No. EasyXiv is an independent app that reads papers from arXiv for you and links each one back to it; arXiv does not endorse it.

What happens when the free use ends?

Nothing is deleted: the day's papers are still listed, and you can read and edit every note; the picks and the assistant need the plan.

Is what I put in used to train AI?

No. The AI runs on Cloudflare's servers under our own account; nothing you put in is sent to another AI company or used to train a model.

Can I delete everything?

Yes. Deleting your account in Settings erases everything in it at once; backup copies are deleted within 30 days.
